Some people walk. Some people power walk, and then others like me, walk with flare.

My walking habits are different from most others. Some are very graceful with long, beautiful strides. My walking is not even in the ballpark with them. I wouldn't call it grace or style, but it is definitely flare. Flare is good for you!

When I was in college at TSU, Susanna showed us that to maximize your walk you should step one foot in front of the other as if you are walking on a thin line. When you do this you feel it in your thighs...and it burns!
When you use different genres and tempos of music, you can also slow your stride to stretch your legs, or you can use faster pace music to match the quick pace. Alternating between the two strides helps pump up your cardio, but it also helps tone your muscles.

If you add a little twist to your waist while doing this, like Selena's washing machine then you are adding an ab workout! Why stop there? Why should your lower body get to have all the fun? You can also pump your arms in various directions--forward, backward, up and down--to give your arms a work-out even when you don't have weights. Now, sure, you look like a cheerleader, but you workout your WHOLE body.

And the nurses that walk on the same track I use do it the the old-fashioned way. But that is boring. Why then don't more people walk this way to get a full-body exercise?

Because it doesn't look cool.

Have a blessed day!
